A group of arrested characters will be as evenly split into cells as possible. They won't be placed in cells facing each other but they will be able to holler to one another from their cells.

Cells with bars are usually used for less severe crimes (petty theft, non-violent offenses) while crimes bordering/exceeding terrorism will be closed using energy fields with no discernible source. They'll have walls between the cells to prevent direct interaction. The cells themselves are plain with very basic comforts, privacy curtains around the toilet. Bunk beds or single beds are in each cell with, again, basic comforts.

Visitors would come to the prison and speak with the guards at the entrance gate where they would be searched and allowed inside. From there, they would speak to a guard at the security gate/check-in and sign in with their identity and who they're visiting, turning over their communicator, and then being escorted to a room where the prisoner would be brought in for a set visitation period. The rooms vary but, in general, they're moderately sized and unadorned. These rooms are under supervision from guards outside the room and recorded. The prisoners will be handcuffed when they're moved.

As the population of Aellyn has been entirely robotic until the offworlders started arriving, and the security forces are mostly, if not entirely, robotic, there are no standard visitation hours. However, hours may be limited if there are too many visits or the severity of the crime is too extreme.

Regarding the current plot, the characters will be restricted temporarily before being allowed supervised and recorded visits, with visitors being searched for weapons/tools/etc. and placed under the same power constraints as the prisoners. Any conversations that would encourage further criminal activity will receive a warning, and if it persists, the visit will be ended prematurely. (eg. if someone visits a friend in jail and the prisoner starts suggesting ways for their visitor to carry out more crime.)
