With the new His Dark Materials show out now it reminded me that I meant to ask this for a while now haha:

I'm assuming the answer is 'no', but what is the official stance on how manifestations of one's soul interacting physically with another person count for contact? Particularly in situations where, like with the daemons of His Dark Materials, physical contact is considered almost obscenely intimate.
