The natives would be very wary of anything that would tamper with the gods' power and the barrier especially. Any prototype they bring to them will be taken temporarily by the science and research centers so they can examine it and how it works. They'll conduct independent tests on it and then return it to the characters in the same condition it was given to them, and upon seeing that it functions as promised, be very interested in this tech and seeing what it can do. The temples and priests, on the other hand, will be vehemently opposed to anything that tampers with the gods' powers and may give characters involved in this development the cold shoulder for awhile, branding them as heretics or meddlers in affairs they have no right to meddle in.
Please just let us know when you plan to bring the prototype to the natives and/or begin using it so we can adjust things like the World Status page, for example.

What information will the characters be looking for in the research towers? And how many towers will they be breaking into? If you are going to recruit other characters beyond those listed here, it will impact the size and scope of the attack and naturally influence how much information they can gather and how far into the towers they will be able to penetrate. Is there a limit to the number of people you want to have involved in your plot, or are you going to open it to the entire playerbase? Given enough time, a heads-up on the number of players, and what areas they will be investigating, we can create a nice cache of data for your characters to find/steal!
However, please be aware that anyone who engages in an assault on the research towers will be jailed and have long-lasting consequences for their actions. Whether they are aggressive or not, attacking the research towers is considered a major breach of trust and they will incur consequences proportionate to their actions. Depending on the severity of the attack and the damage dealt, whether or not anyone is hurt or killed, and how much information is stolen, characters may face consequences, including but not limited to:
- Jail time, minimum of a week
- Confiscation of dora above the minimum living requirement (eg a wage garnish) until the cost of repairs/reparations are covered
- No AC reward claims for a few months if the gods themselves end up involved should anyone be harmed or killed
- Definite social stigma of those involved from the population, it would be on the news
- All good will for involved characters would be down to zero & some possible distrust for every other offworlder depending on how bad the assault is
If this is acceptable to you and everyone involved, we would like to discuss this further to plan this with you.no subject
There are only 4 research towers in Havenwell, but each one is rather massive. After the first breach, all the others will enter a high alert status and begin breach protocols. It's likely that with everyone involved, including the potential participants, they can get to 2 towers, invading part of the way into number 2 before getting chased out. They'll have time to scatter into the city while under pursuit, giving them time to hide anything they were able to take. Character homes will be searched and businesses will be shut down for a week while the participants are in jail so security and police can examine them for stolen items (so be sure to hide them elsewhere!).
In that vein, what sort information will your characters be searching for at the towers? General information, experiment reports, offworlder information, etc.?

Also, regarding timing of your player plot, would June be amenable for everyone involved?

"Character homes will be searched and businesses will be shut down for a week while the participants are in jail so security and police can examine them for stolen items."
There won't be a permanent loss of their businesses, but they will lose native patrons and workers, as well as a loss of trust and thus lost access to places like the labs, restrictions on dealings with native businesses and temples and the like. Just as in the real world, when you do a major crime, people aren't so willing to be as kind or generous as they were before. With time and demonstrated good will from the perpetrators, they may eventually win back lost trust, but it will be an uphill battle with anything related to the Research Towers. While there won't be permanent loss of AC Rewards or points, the characters will lose their access to claiming AC Reward Items for a certain amount of time, so please be aware of that. This includes other characters buying Reward Items for them to skirt around their temporary lost access (i.e. an uninvolved character cannot redeem gifts for the perpetrators).
Also, once a Tower's higher security areas are breached, regardless of method, they will be spotted by either guards, cameras, or the researchers working there. Stealth can only get them so far when they stick out with their flesh bodies in a place where only robots are supposed to enter.
We'll begin creating an information cache based around the parameters you've set! Thank you for letting us know.

Thank you!

Could you give us a more specific time in June that you would like to run your plot? And if there is an outline for how it will generally occur (who is going where and doing what), please let us know so we can give you a guideline for how natives and security forces would react.
no subject
Per your submitted outline, will the characters be engaging in a two pronged physical assault concurrent with a stealth group? Or will they be doing stealth or physical assault first before switching to the other? We aren't clear on this and it will change how NPCs react. Please let us know as soon as you can.

The second third of the tower requires a keycard or native guide and are accessed through a separate elevator system which requires the keycard or native to use. These elevators take you to the native research labs, where only trusted offworlders who have proven themselves are allowed. The number of these people is limited so anyone who is not among that list can be spotted immediately. At this stage, stealth will be very important as being discovered here will have NPCs inquiring about where their guide is and/or having security called on them. In these labs, natives run their conservation experiments and their projects that relate to general life within Havenwell such as: food science, flora study, animal husbandry and cataloguing, animal DNA sequencing, etc. To access this level of labs would require a keycard or a hack of the elevators, which shouldn't be too hard considering who you have on your teams.
The final and top third of the tower is where their most important and thus classified research happens and has a single elevator that connects only to the uppermost floor of the second tier of labs. This elevator is difficult to hack, but it is possible. However, once a character exits the elevator on any of the top tier floors, they will have a maximum of ten minutes before an alarm rings. The upper floors of the towers are exclusively used by the robotic natives and it is where they house their most sensitive information and experiments, including the more dangerous recovered animals and any hazardous biological materials, research into the gods' powers and into their own bodies. As such, any organic material that is not within its designated area is seen as a breach and is reported automatically by the managing security system. Disabling this security system is inadvisable as it will send the entire floor into lockdown, making it think there has been a catastrophic biological breach. The characters will be able to access one or two lab offices here before the security team will use the managing security system to locate them and begin chasing them out for tresspassing.
If this is when the violence ensues, the security team will switch priorities from explusion to apprehension and chase characters out into the city, alerting the general guard that they have a crime on their hands. The characters can then run to Tower 2 or disperse into the city. If they try to hit Tower 2, they will find that as they get within the building and start working their way upward, their powers and abilities (magical or not) will completely shut down. At this point the barrier than prevents characters from using their abilities when sent to jail will be activated in every single tower and temple and in government controlled areas around the city in an attempt to stop the violence and apprehend the perpetrators.
Other than physical items like samples, test tubes, etc., most of the natives' research notes are kept digitally on data terminals kept in their offices (think large, podium sized CPU units they can hook into with touch screens) or on data pads that resemble larger versions of the offworlder communication tablets. On occasion, characters may see Aellyn script written in whiteboard marker on the walls, windows, or whiteboards hung in labs. The top tier labs are generally enclosed offices with a single entrance/exit that scans for biological matter upon entrance and exit to ensure that nothing escapes. The labs can have anything from several lab tables to animal cages where the more dangerous creatures from the Bestiary can be found.
To determine how much data your characters can receive from their assault, please let us know the following:
1. How many people are hacking data terminals and how many terminals you wish to hack
2. How many people are swiping physical data pads or other physical samples, and how many you wish to have
3. How many people are physically entering the top tier labs (as a note, once the alarm rings, the elevator will not allow new people to enter the labs to ensure safety)
4. What information is Verstael noting down? We need more guidance on this beyond "everything" so we can give you guidelines

Re: Gladio's Birthday Weekend
Feel free to have your keg and enjoy the game! If you would like to send us a short blurb about the game later (example: here), we can upload it directly to the VR Cafe page for you.

Have fun and party hearty, boys♥

This will be handwaved dora funds only, as it isn't exactly something we can judge for AC Rewards. You are free to have characters engage in positive contact and submit it for AC points though! The work of tidying/cleaning/restoring, however, will not count by itself for AC points.
The timeline seems to be fine - although, with the delay in our response (we're sorry for that!) - it may be better to aim for later in the month to allow more people to discuss and sign up for it. The General Plotting Thread will be going up soon with the Event Plot Post, so please feel free to use that and the OOC community to garner interest and gather people.

Everything here seems fine to us though, so feel free to move forward whenever you are ready. Just give us a heads up before you begin in case there is another plot or event happening at the same time.
As for where to go, the priests would suggest going to the outskirts of the city, nearer to the wall, away from the developed areas. As for whom to inform in advance, they'd suggest reaching out to the city council so they can cordone off the area for safety reasons. They'd appreciate her offering to help with repairs as well!
Take your time responding to the other comment. Especially if things are hectic for you, there's no pressure!

As the area outside the walls is untamed, mostly ruins of little significance, anywhere outside would be a good place to do your plot!

As for what they can find? In the Ohman head priest's quarters is a suspiciously cylindrical object with a rounded bowl-like base. It has two tubes coming out - one larger vertical tube with an opening at the top, and one smaller diagonal tube coming out of the bowl. It has some remnants of what looks like dark stains in the bowl, but they are clearly ancient in origin. Next to the object is a small plate of incense that is kept burning. In the Rawnan head priest's quarters is a booklet of autographs from local celebrities hidden under what serves as his pillow in his bed. The Ainean head priest's room is decorated from ceiling to floor in pink fabrics and has an inordinate amount of temple mice everywhere. The Diachtian head priest seems to be collecting old temple offerings like bottle caps, shiny ribbons, memorabilia, and other knick-knacks like broken digital tablets.
