Who can I app?
Per Rule #8: We allow: canon characters, canon au characters, fandom ocs with mod approval, original characters, and CRAU characters. We do not allow duplicates unless the two characters are significantly different; eg Character A straight from canon and Character B is a canon AU or significantly different CRAU. This will be dealt with on a case by case basis, so please message us at the Mod Contact Page if you have any questions!
We also do not allow applications for real life people, unless you are playing from a historical fiction canon wherein the person is a character. So you cannot app in Stephen Colbert the person, but you could app in Date Masamune from Sengoku Basara. As long as your canon is a fictionalized account, we will usually allow it. If you're concerned whether your character would be allowed, please message a mod or ask on the FAQ.

Fandom OCs you say?
Yes! Within reason we will allow fandom ocs so long as they don't have significant relationships with canon characters. So you can app in that Malleable Protag from Mass Effect, Persona, or even your D&D or Warhammer OC, but not if they're Harry Potter's long lost sister or the Unmarried Protagonist's husband or Those Two Canon Characters' Kid. Within reason, we'll work with you so please contact the mods if you have questions.
If you wish to ask for permission to app a fandom OC, please PM the mod journal with the following information:

Fandom OC Character Name: the name of your character
Canon: their canon

What about powers and possessions?
Your character can keep their powers or lose them if you want! The gods aren't perfect in transferring people from one reality to another so sometimes things get wonky. We only ask that you nerf any major game-breaking, planet smashing, reality bending powers so we can all have fun here. As for possessions, you're free to bring in THREE (3) weapons or items your character had on them when they were pulled - within reason. No vehicles or game breaking items, so leave those tanks and Infinity Stones (unless they're literally attached to you; you're safe, Vision) at home, please! Animal companions are allowed to count as one of the three pending mod approval, but the animal must have a valid link to the character. There will be chances to regain more items later!
Are there any caps?
Since we're all new at this, there is currently a cap of:
♥ 60 Players
♥ 2 characters PER player
♥ Cast cap of 10 characters
This is subject to change once the mods are settled in so keep checking back! For cast cap purposes, we include characters from the same universe as part of the cast. A character from Marvel's Cinematic Universe, regardless of film, would be considered part of the same cast. However, a character from a Marvel comic or a Marvel comics based video game would ALSO be considered part of the same cast. Please be aware of these caps when reserving and sending in your application.

Are challenge apps allowed?
Unfortunately, we do not allow challenge applications. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis with reservations taking priority. If a reserved character's application is rejected, however, anyone may apply for that character.
When do reservations/applications open and close?
While applications remain open all month, reservations are also open at all times and only indicate to the mods an interest in a particular character. Received reservations are valid for THREE (3) days once applications open. After 3 days, your reservation expires and anyone may apply for that character.
Can I use headcanon or other historical details in my application?
As long as you clearly demarcate what is canon and what is headcanon or supplemental material in your application, we will allow some use of headcanon or other historical details. Using historical information or headcanon to fill in minor blanks might be acceptable (such as small quirks supported in canon or discussing childhood when it isn't broached in canon), but larger blanks that have a larger influence on the character's personality and life might not be. We'll need to know the character and what sort of information you're hoping to use that isn't represented in canon in order to make a more informed decision. Please contact a mod if you're concerned or curious about whether or not your use of additional information or headcanon is acceptable.
