♥ World Status
Havenwell's Current Status: November/Malom
This is a post where new and old players can quickly reference the general status of their city, Havenwell, and the world at large, Aellyn. Below you can see the state of the city, whether or not there are any lingering effects from recent events, what sort of general background activities are going on, and look up generic prompts that can be used at any time for things like new character introductions or open mingles. These are to be taken as samplings of what can be found happening in and around Havenwell and not a definitive and exclusive list. If you would like to imagine something going on within the overall parameters of the city environment, feel free to do so or ask us questions about such things here!

State of Havenwell & Aellyn
- Winter Is Coming, or rather, it's already here. It's started to snow! Little dustings, mostly, nothing too troublesome. Residents might notice more Shoremerans (particularly those with children) visiting on days of heavier snowfall, or at least on days when the weather report predicts one might occur. They're really looking forward to a proper winter wonderland, but it looks like they'll have to wait a little longer for it.
- An investigation is officially underway within the tunnels beneath the mines; the city council and security are looking into who is responsible for the breakage of the large, ominously-marked door seals and thus the influx of spirits, both benign and harmful. While most of the damage done was not especially threatening, there were several people from both cities (as well as offworlders of course) hurt due to the hostile ghosts, so there are plenty looking for answers. Anyone with information about this vandalism is urgently encouraged to come forward.
- The honeymoon phase is over, and relations between Havenwell and Shoremere are officially in business mode now. A series of meetings between the Havenwell City Council and Shoremere's chief and associates (to keep it balanced!) have been occurring over the last few months, and they've begun to implement some policies and standards to ensure that both cities benefit fairly from the trades that have opened up, both financially and morally. The Havenwell Council has also advised the research tower management to, in short, cool their jets about bothering those from Shoremere for their DNA. Instead, those requests are being woven into the official policy negotiations, as a voluntary fees-for-services idea rather than some poor tourist getting accosted on the street for cloning purposes. The scientists meant well, mostly, but people for some reason don't take well to the question, "Can I grow a modified genetic copy of you and put my soul in it?" no matter how it is phrased.
- The majority of the less-friendly hauntings have been quelled, thankfully, and all residents are safely spared from further harassment in their homes by restless and intrusive spirits. Even if they only wanted to help you find the sugar, there's nothing worse than an unwelcome houseguest! Not all ghosts have entirely vacated, it turns out. A handful of spirits have taken over an abandoned building on the outskirts of town, and are content to just sort of… chill there. They don't seem remotely interested in the candle method of exorcism, nor are they inclined to invade anyone else's home. Sometimes they go out shopping (buying nothing, because no one takes ghost-dora), sometimes they explore the ruins, sometimes they just sit and watch the city for hours. It's a harmless haunting that no one really knows how to solve at the moment, but they're not bothering anyone. Feel free to go ghost hunting though, they'd probably love to chase you around the house for a while just for fun.
The trio behind the Flash Mob shenanigans have been politely but firmly told to retire their costumes, first by the council and then by security officers, and the central candle has been confiscated. Offworlders and residents alike are encouraged to report to city security any further spottings or, heaven forbid, harassment. (We get it, you love the season. But the whole month, really? Shoremerans are growing concerned.)

Current God Status & Effects
- The current god power balance, from strongest to weakest, is:
1. Ainea
2. Rawna
3. Ohma (TIED)
4. Diacht (TIED)
The world is heavily imbalanced towards Ainea and Rawna. - The translation team in Ohma's temple has released a statement regarding the warnings graffiti'd on the door in the mineshaft tunnels, after several months of deep digging:
"The warnings were written in a glyph font that was commonly used well before the change. Similar to many ancient slang phrases, these glyphs have been lost to time. The messages read, paraphrased:
-tunnel is bad news
-probably shouldn't open this one
-worms ate my dad
-he said no visitors
-ring bell for death
Additionally, a pictograph of ASCII art depicting a winged creature was made using the glyph for "death" over and over. The committee has voted and agreed it is 'a little on the nose'. Going forward please wait for translations to conclude prior to opening any doors marked in a manner implying doom on Aellyn, thank you." - Optional god effects: characters with an association to the deity who rules over this month will find themselves more energized than normal, like waking up already having drunk a cup of coffee. Characters who belong to the gods who are the weakest at the moment may find themselves feeling more of an urge to participate in events that will earn them positive physical contact. It's never more than a gentle nudge, however, as the gods are still all about consent.
